China Daily is going on a mission to Mars!

Since humans began exploring space in the 20th century — and long before, when we looked up at the night sky — Mars has been the next frontier. Establishing an outpost on the red planet has been the dream of many, and we’re closer to success now than ever before.

To prepare us for that future, a Mars simulation facility has been built on the Gobi Desert in Gansu province. Everything, down to the last detail, has been designed to immerse visitors in the experience of living on another planet.

Get a taste of this journey for yourself by watching our livestream from the Gansu "Mars base" at 3 pm Wednesday, July 31 on the China Daily app.
