Municipalities and provinces along the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) region on Friday during the ongoing World Artificial Intelligence Conference pledged to intensify their work together building a smart industrial internet.
Praised by the China Academy for Information and Communications Technology, over 10 institutions and enterprises signed a partnership agreement in Shanghai on the industrial internet identification and resolution for the YRD region.
The protocol, signed during a sub-forum themed Global Smart Industry, formalizes the strategic ties between Shanghai and neighboring cities to work on internet identification and resolution.
Experts said that identification and resolution are crucial to enriching digitalization and infusing data into once-traditional industries.
Shanghai is considered at the top level of identification and resolution nationwide, whereas other provinces are considered secondary level.
The Smart Industry Shanghai Initiative was also officially launched, calling for enterprises and organizations to adopt 5G technologies, construct industrial internet big data systems, and encourage machines to improve their performance through self-learning.
Huang Ou, president of Shanghai Electric Group, encouraged industrial players to seize opportunities to make the industrial sector a true "fertile ground" for the development of the real economy.
