About 100 people gathered in the plaza of Taohualing scenic spot in Changsha, Central China's Hunan province, to make giant sand paintings, celebrating the coming 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
According to sand painter Yin Junhui, the painting is about 15 meters long, covering an area of about 225 square meters.
A stylized number 70 in the centerpiece, which integrates the Chinese national flag and the Gate of Heavenly Peace just north of Tian'anmen Square, symbolizes the country is welcoming the 70th anniversary. At the bottom in red are the words "70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China".
After two hours, the giant sand paintings with bright colors and design were finished, attracting a large number of visitors.
