UN General Assembly to hold high-level general debate in the US
The 74th session of the UN General Assembly opened in New York on Sept 17. The high-level general debate will start on Sept 24, and 143 heads of state and government have been confirmed to speak there.
As a special representative of President Xi Jinping, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi will attend the general debate. Wang will also attend the UN 2019 Climate Action Summit and the 2019 Sustainable Development Goals Summit.
During the week of the debate, several other high-level events also will convene. The UN secretary-general will convene a climate summit and the UNGA will hold a one-day high-level meeting on universal health coverage on Sept 23.
