HONG KONG - Chief Executive of China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Carrie Lam said on Monday that the dialogue platform is officially launched.
Lam posted a picture on the social media depicting a small seedling breaking through the ground, with a caption saying, "No matter how hard it is, there's a way out. Let's talk. The dialogue platform is officially launched."
The HKSAR government announced on Sept 19 that Lam will attend the first Community Dialogue session on the evening of Sept 26, and 150 people from the community will be invited to the dialogue.
The session will be an open dialogue platform aimed at reaching out to the public to invite people from all walks of life to express their views to the government, so as to fathom the discontent in society and to look for solutions, the HKSAR government said.
Registration was open to public from Sept 19 to noon on Sept 23, with more than 20,000 people registered. Places will be allocated by computer lot drawing, according to the HKSAR government.
