China is innovative. Take the mobile app Wechat for example. I think it is an amazingly innovative app. Many innovations in China are mainly for the Chinese market, in the Chinese language, serving Chinese culture. Products as such may not be known outside, but actually are innovative. More and more Chinese companies such as Alibaba, Huawei are stepping into the market worldwide and becoming noticeable with innovative business models.
