The US special vehicle manufacturer Oshkosh Corporation launched a new super high-rise water supply fire truck at the 18th China International Fire Protection Equipment Technology Conference & Exposition, held in Beijing last week.
The fire truck was designed for the Chinese market, said James Johnson, executive vice-president of the company.
"The new truck has shown our commitment to providing the best equipment for firefighters in the world," he said.
According to the company, up to 60 percent of the world's high buildings are located in China as of 2019. China has more than 110 buildings with a height of more than 350 meters in Chongqing, Nanjing, Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
Johnson said China remains one of the most important markets for the company in spite of the trade conflict between China and the United States.
"We will continue to invest in technology and service when we see the demand," he said.
"The new fire truck can supply water and extinguishant as high as 420 meters, which will help firefighters solve difficulties when accidents occur in high buildings," said Frank Lin, general manager of Oshkosh North Asia.
The company promised to provide full after-sale service, and the truck was made in the US.
