Is it time to ease the burden on students?

I am a father. I agree with limiting homework to children not only in primary schools but also secondary ones. Children should learn by playing outside. Through observing, smelling, touching could they get more knowledge they may never learn by just reciting monotonous texts. Homework should include more actual experience with less paperwork.
