"The detainees included many gang leaders, secret casino bosses, bankers, organizers and operators," Zhang said at a press conference in Guangdong's provincial capital on Wednesday.

Jufeng 2019 gave priority to the fight against organizers, operators, bankers, profiteers, and their protective umbrellas, which has dealt a heavy blow to the criminals, Zhang said. It also contributes to further improve the social order for economic construction in the province, a window into the country's reform and opening up, he said.

Despite the achievement, Zhang promised that police across Guangdong province will never relax their vigilance in the fight against crimes in the months to come.
