The China Hi-Tech Fair 2019 will kick off on Wednesday, with cooperation among cities in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in focus.

Known as China's largest technology exhibition, this year's fair will see more than 3,300 exhibitors from 44 countries and regions across the world taking part, including 37 Belt and Road Initiative countries, and an exhibition area of 142,000 square meters, organizers said at a news conference on Tuesday.

Over 250 events will be held during the five-day fair, including exhibitions, forums, product launches and other supporting activities.

More than 500,000 visitors are expected to show up at the annual fair, organizers said.

CHTF serves as a platform for showcasing the world's latest technological development and promoting economic and trade cooperation between China and the rest of the world.

Cooperation among 11 cities in the Bay Area will be highlighted at this year's event, which will display the region's achievements in technology and innovation.

Officials, company executives, industry experts and scholars from the cities will gather to discuss how to better cooperate with each other to build the region into an international technology and innovation hub.
