Winter Palace joins hands with Beijing Hermitage Art Foundation

On the afternoon of Nov 14, 2019 local time, the 8th St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum was held in St. Petersburg, Russia. At the forum, Mikhail Piotrovsky, the owner of the Hermitage Museum, officially announced a partnership between the Winter Palace and the Beijing Hermitage Art Foundation. In the future, the Hermitage exhibits will utilize modern technology to bring art treasures of the Hermitage Museum into China digitally to reach millions of Chinese people, facilitating cultural exchanges between China and Russia.
Project cooperation is mainly characterized by interaction between the museums in China and Russia through exhibitions and social publicity responsibilities.
In addition to large-scale cultural artifacts research cooperation projects, such as the establishment of the Hermitage Museum in Xihongqiao, Shanghai and the establishment of the Peacock Clock Research Center, this collaboration will also host the Winter Palace VR Art Exhibition, integrating digital technology and artificial intelligence into the exhibition. It will also be the world's first unmanned 24-hour art exhibition featuring content customization.
