A moving ceremony to mark the 82nd anniversary of the deadly Nanjing Massacre was held in Canada on Thursday.
The ceremony was conducted by Ontario Legislation along with ALPHA Education in Queen's Park on December 13.
It comes after the Ontario Legislature unanimously passed Motion 66 in October 2017, designating December 13 as the Nanjing Massacre Commemorative Day in Ontario.
Since then, ALPHA Education has co-sponsored with different MPPs to host annual official commemorative event inside Queens Park.
The Nanjing Massacre occurred in 1937 during World War II in Nanjing, the then capital city of China.
During the six-week massacre period over 200,000 to 300,000 Chinese were slaughtered by Japanese troops and tens of thousands of women and girls were raped.
