LANZHOU -- Northwest China's Gansu province saw robust growth in its trade with ASEAN members in the first 11 months of this year, with ASEAN remaining the province's second-largest trading partner, local customs authorities said Wednesday.

In the period, Gansu's trade with ASEAN countries reached 4.11 billion yuan ($587.4 million), up 51.4 percent year-on-year, accounting for 12 percent of the province's total foreign trade.

Gansu's trade with countries along the Belt and Road also rose 2.8 percent to 18.63 billion yuan.

To further promote its trade with ASEAN members, Gansu signed an agreement with ASEAN in April on the exports of onions and traditional Chinese medicines to Southeast Asia and the imports of fruits and rare medicinal herbs, with the total value amounting to more than 2.5 billion yuan over five years.
