Beijing's digital publishing market reached 234 billion yuan ($33 billion) last year, which accounted for 28 percent of total in China, according to the municipal authority on Saturday at a forum.

At the 2019 Promotion for Beijing Top-quality Digital Publishing Works, a report on Beijing's digital publishing market was officially released, which shows that online education and online games are the two biggest niche markets in the capital's digital publishing sector, followed by digital music and web literature.

Zheng Junbin, head of the Publishing Department of Beijing's Publicity Authority, said Beijing achieved fruitful results last year in digital publishing works.

"Beijing government has been investing 15 million yuan to support and reward high-quality digital works annually in the past years," he said. "Meanwhile, the city authority has carried out multiple policies to help build the platforms and attract talents in the digital publishing sector."

The forum will end Sunday.
