ING appoints new head of wholesale for Asia-Pacific

Global financial institution ING has appointed Krista Baetens as CEO of ING Wholesale Banking Asia-Pacific, effective Jan 15.

Based in Singapore, the Dutch bank's regional headquarters, Baetens will drive the wholesale strategy for the Asia-Pacific and is responsible for the performance of wholesale banking business across 14 markets in the region.

Baetens has held various management roles in the Asia-Pacific and Europe for ING over the past 22 years. She used to head lending business to corporate and financial institutions in Asia, as well as wholesale banking in Singapore and Southeast Asia.

She succeeds Gerrit Stoelinga, who was CEO of ING Wholesale Banking Asia Pacific from 2016.
