On Monday, Chinese pianist Lang Lang performed at the 62nd Grammy Awards along with a group of artists including John Legend, Cyndi Lauper and Camila Cabello, performing the classic song I Sing the Body Electric from the 1980s movie Fame.
The performance was a tribute to Ken Ehrlich, who will bow out after a 40-year career as a Grammy Awards producer. Ehrlich is known for mixing artists of different genres together to make memorable moments during the Grammy Awards. One of the most famous performances was when he paired Lang Lang with American heavy-metal band Metallica during the Grammy Awards in 2014, which saw them performing the legendary rock band's hit song, One, together.
"It's a beautiful celebration of music with my friends, for Ken Ehrlich and also for many of my (musician) friends. It's a kind of family reunion of performing together," said the pianist before his performance.
Since 2008, the pianist has performed at the Grammy Awards four times, including his performances with Metallica, American singer-songwriter Pharrell Williams and jazz legend Herbie Hancock, which are regarded as "the highlights of my career" by Lang Lang.
