Chinese ambassador to Colombia Lan Hu attended the opening ceremony of the 39th Colombia Tourism Promotion Exhibition and the opening ceremony of the Chinese Pavilion on Feb 26, accompanied by Zhu Xiaoyan, cultural counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Colombia. President Iván Duque of Colombia also attended.
At the exhibition of the China Pavilion, a red dragon rises in the air; giant posters of Tian'anmen Square, the Great Wall and the giant panda show China's most famous images along with red lanterns, red peppers, firecrackers and Chinese knots hanging above the exhibition. Chinese tourism brochures, scenic postcards, calligraphy and paintings of the zodiac animals were also on view. Although the novel coronavirus outbreak is ongoing, many exhibitors say families believe China will overcome this problem soon, and have signed up for summer travel to China.
