Students and teachers at Tianjin Foreign Studies University have beefed up efforts to complete a video collection of health tips in 28 languages, including English, Japanese, Korean, Russian, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Hungarian and Finnish, just to name a few.
The initiative is aimed at helping foreigners join the campaign to fight against the ongoing novel coronavirus pneumonia outbreak and protect their health.
The video project was completed within one week and teachers and students have uploaded those videos to their personal spaces on social media sites like Sina Weibo and WeChat moments, as they have many foreign friends.
Video media, such as YouTube and iQiyi have shown the video as well, thanks to promotion by the university's Publicity Department.
After learning of their efforts, the local immigration authority, many local communities with foreign residents and local news portal Jinyun contacted the university to help release the video, in a bid to help more foreigners learn more about the guidelines on the city's regulations to protect their health.
"They have done a good job in translation, and the teachers and students are really great anchors and the video producing professional!" a foreign netizen commented online.
Tianjin Foreign Studies University has taken the lead in China's foreign language and literature education.
