More than 1,500 delivery stations owned by major merchant platforms have resumed work in Beijing — around 93 percent of the total — the capital's commerce bureau said on Monday.

More than 54,000 delivery drivers are providing delivery services of food and medicines. Since Feb 15, there have been around 54.56 million deliveries in Beijing.

The daily average delivery order in April increased to 1.31 million, about 70 percent of what it was before the coronavirus outbreak.

The companies are requiring delivery drivers to keep direct contact with customers to a minimum to avoid infection. Drivers have their temperature taken every day before starting work.
