Teacher investigated for promoting boy idol

Education authorities in Xiayi county in Henan province have launched investigation into a video showing a teacher directing kindergarten students shouting slogans supporting a singer, the paper.cn reported on Thursday.

At the beginning of the video, which had gone viral on Weibo, dozens of students sitting outdoors in what appears to be the kindergarten shouted their answer — "Wang Junkai!" - several times when the teacher asked, "Who is the boyfriend of Jiajia?"

Wang is a member of the hit band TFBoys.

The video moves on to a classroom featuring more loud questions and answers: "Wang is the most handsome, and you are the most beautiful! I have money to spend on you."

Local authorities said the video was shot in 2017.

A woman surnamed Li, who is in charge of the kindergarten, said the teacher was fired in 2017 after a month of working there because of suspected carelessness in her work.
