Chinese tech company Cheetah Mobile Inc is ramping up push to popularize robotics technologies, with more than 10,000 of its robots being deployed in multiple industries to serve people.

The company said its robots have been deployed in large shopping malls, exhibition areas, KTVs, libraries, office buildings, medical institutions, hotels, government buildings and other places to help people.

These robots have been adopted by more than 1,600 clients for use in over 20 different industrial scenarios.

Fu Sheng, chairman of Cheetah Mobile, said the company's artificial intelligence-enabled robots, for instance, are being used in hospitals to help reduce the burden on medical workers.

"They can offer medical advice, deliver medicines, guide patients, and measure patients' temperatures, which help boost efficiency and reduce cross-infection among medical workers," Fu said.

According to Cheetah Mobile, the robots have been developed by OrionStar, a robotics company it has invested in. The company said a large-scale application of robots in multiple industries and positions can help people spend less time on repetitive jobs and give them more chance to engage in creative work.

The human-machine collaboration model can help companies reduce costs and increase efficiency, and uses robotics' big data to improve the efficiency of offline economies, Cheetah Mobile added.

Its robots deployed at shopping malls can recognize consumers via facial recognition, attract consumers to retail stores via voice-interaction, assist in mapping navigation, collect consumers' feedback, and send out coupons.

Such functions can help shopping malls and retail store to better target consumers and improve marketing efficiency, Cheetah Mobile said.
