Tsunami warning as 7.8 quake hits off Alaska

BEIJING - A 7.8-magnitude earthquake jolted waters off Alaska to the south, United States at 2:12 pm Wednesday (Beijing Time), according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).
The epicenter was monitored at 55.05 degrees north latitude and 158.50 degrees west longitude.
The quake struck at a depth of 10 km.
The earthquake triggers a tsunami warning for areas within 200 miles (300 kilometers) of the epicenter.
