Starry Lee vows to bring rationality back to city's legislature

HONG KONG — Starry Lee Wai-king, chairwoman of the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong, registered on Monday to run for the upcoming Legislative Council election, pledging to unite society and restore the city’s prosperity.
Lee, who is seeking re-election in the District Council (Second) functional constituency, said the chaos in LegCo the past four years has led to the delay of many bills that are closely tied to Hong Kong people’s livelihoods. The city’s economy and people’s lives have all been hard hit, she added.Lee, whose party is the largest in LegCo, vowed to bring rationality back to the legislature, and she said the move will stabilize the city’s political atmosphere and help improve Hong Kong people’s livelihoods.
Joining Lee as pro-establishment candidates in the constituency are Lo Yuen-ting and Frankie Ngan Man-yu of the DAB, and Warwick Wan Wo-tat of the Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions.
