Chinese Bridge, a worldwide Chinese language contest for university students, drew the curtains on its divisional competition in Pakistan. Hosted by the Chinese embassy in Pakistan and supported by local Confucian Institutes, the events proved to be a great success.

Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, Pakistani universities and schools have also been shut down for months. All contestants joined this year's Chinese Bridge by submitting videos online.

Divided into two categories -- public speaking and talent show -- the contest requires students to share their thoughts on the main topic, "We are one world". Many delivered inspiring speeches celebrating the solidarity of China and Pakistan while curbing the novel coronavirus.

The talent show covered many aspects of Chinese culture, including music, dance, painting and traditional cuisine.

Haider Abbas and Saira Banu from the Confucius Institute in Islamabad respectively won the first and second place in the final round.
