6.8-magnitude quake hits 102 km NW of Vallenar, Chile: USGS

BEIJING - An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.8 jolted 102 km northwest of Vallenar, Chile at 0409 GMT on Tuesday, the US Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 27.9 degrees south latitude and 71.5 degrees west longitude.
