Tianjin municipality in North China, rests between the northern Yanshan Mountains and the coastal plain. Adjacent to the sea and rivers, it carries distinct ecological beauty.
The name Tianjin, meaning "the Emperor's Port", came into being in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).Tianjin epitomizes China's modern history. It has many precious historical sites, former residences of celebrities and foreign-style architecture. In addition, it has unique folk cultures, such as Yangliuqing New Year painting, Clay Figure Zhang and Tianjin crosstalk, among others.
