UAE hosts first-ever Chinese Digital Culture Exhibition Week

The first-ever Chinese Digital Culture Exhibition Week in the UAE was launched by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China, China's embassy in the UAE, the UAE Ministry of Culture and Youth and the UAE embassy in China.

The weeklong event organized by China Culture and Entertainment Industry Association and Hala China will hold workshops, seminars and interactive exhibitions, all online, from Nov 18-25.

Aligned with UAE 2021 Vision: "Innovation, research, science and technology will form the pillars of a knowledge-based, highly productive and competitive economy", the event aims to promote the UAE as a multicultural destination in addition to fostering communication and providing opportunities to engage the youth in both countries. The week will hold in collaboration with Tencent Games, a PUBG e-sport competition between China and the UAE as well as sessions on music and audiobooks, a digital creativity exhibition and much more.

Ali Obaid Al Dhaheri, the UAE ambassador to China, said: "During last year's state visit to China, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan outlined how China and the UAE are together creating a road map for a century of prosperity. The future of cultural cooperation and understanding between our nations will be driven by the young of our respective nations, these culture exchanges will be inspiring current and future generations to the depth and intricacy of Chinese and Arabic cultures."

Sheikh Majid bin Abdulla Al Mualla, chairman of the board of directors of Hala China, said: "Since its inception, Hala China has continued to build bridges that enable the exchange of expertise, through events such as this one, we seek to showcase the talent and capabilities of our people and enhance cross-cultural exchange, especially among the youth." He added: "The UAE is China's most important trade partner in the Arab world, accounting for 26 percent of total non-oil foreign trade between China and the Arab countries. The ability to understand the language of 'business' will pay off in the long run."

The seven-day festival event includes digital creativity exhibition, workshops and saloons to garner youth perspectives from the two countries on key issues of interest, and also delve into topics such as creativity in the digital economy and the impact of digital culture; while in collaboration with the most popular and trendy competitive online game worldwide "PUBG" from Tencent Games and well-known Chinese livestream platform, millions daily active users tune in to watch live e-sports competition.

The Chinese Digital Culture Exhibition Week in the UAE showcases the two nation's world-class digital innovation with focus on the above three key themes and explore future business into a digital model, and offers fresh perspectives for leading local technology companies as well as conduct an in-depth analysis of the evolution of project groups in areas where young people gather, through the packed agenda of workshops and seminars.

UAE Ministry of Culture and Youth, Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority, UAE stakeholders across all key themes and Chinese leading entrepreneurs within digital creativity industry are supporting or participating in this event.
