The third Yangtze River Delta International Cultural Industries Expo (iCiE) kicked off at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) on Thursday.

More than 1,000 museums, institutions and corporations are participating in the 54,000-square-meter exhibition that is showcasing a diverse range of products from interactive gaming and viewing experiences that are powered by virtual and augmented reality to traditional handicrafts that are intangible cultural heritages, including bamboo weaving, silk embroidery and print-making.

A large platform for IP trading, merchandise development and cultural branding promotion for Shanghai, Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Anhui provinces, the iCiE has this year set up a special showcase for seven regions that are receiving aid from Shanghai.

These regions include Zunyi of Guizhou province, Yichang of Hubei province and Wanzhou of Chongqing municipality.

In addition, the Shanghai Museum is presenting the new conceptual IP collaboration with the Metropolitan Museum in New York, the United States. Earlier this year, the two museums signed a deal to develop new cultural icons by combining signature images of its respective collections.
