Cross-trading companies in Beijing have saved their import clearance time at Customs by more than 70 percent in the past three years thanks to the deepening integrated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

According to data from Beijing Customs on Tuesday, import clearance times in December last year for the Beijing Customs Area averaged 29.31 hours, while export clearance times were 1.44 hours, a reduction of 72.8 percent and 90.6 percent, respectively, compared December 2017, which marks a dramatic growth in efficiency.

According to Beijing Benz Automotive Co Ltd, goods can be declared in advance before they reach Chaoyang (district) Customs. They also can be claimed directly upon arrival, saving the need for prior arrangements before picking up goods at the yard.

At present, there are hundreds of containers using such declarations each week, which have reduced their pick-up times.

In recent years, Beijing Customs has made great effort with customs in Tianjin and its North China neighbor, Hebei province.

So far, Beijing and Tianjin have issued eight Beijing-Tianjin joint announcements and introduced 148 measures aimed at improving the efficiency of transferring goods in China.
