A promotional conference for rehabilitation and elderly care zone at the fourth edition of the China International Import Expo was held on Wednesday.

The event was held by the China International Import Expo Bureau, the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce and the Shanghai Rehabilitation Device Association.

More than 10 representatives from leading companies in the global healthcare industry, including Ottobock, Ossur, Miki Mobility, and Daikin Medical Technology, participated in the conference.

The CIIE Bureau said that rehabilitation and elderly care has become one of the key development industries and has a huge market potential following the country's implementation of the "Healthy China 2030" plan. The rehabilitation and elderly care zone, which made its debut at the second CIIE, has achieved good results so far, the bureau added.

A representative from the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce said the expo is a high-quality platform for overseas companies to enter the Chinese market, and that the commission will provide services for companies participating in the expo.

The Shanghai Rehabilitation Device Association said that the aging population in the country has created huge market potential that foreign companies could tap via the CIIE.

During the conference, company representatives also introduced their products and services, and spoke about the scope of exhibits, policy support, supply and demand matching services, and supporting activities.
