Modern living

Wu Liangyong has devoted his life to the development of human settlements theory and putting it into practice to improve the living environment of his people. An exhibition now on at the Tsinghua University Art Museum showcases the 99-year-old's accomplishments as a noted architect, educator and urban planner over the past seven decades. On display are drafts, drawings, models and paintings reflecting Wu's efforts to blend Chinese aesthetics with modern needs for better living. Also at the exhibition are case studies summarizing his views on urban planning which helped shape the landscapes of many cities and regions across the country. The exhibition will run till May 9.
