The Qilian Mountain park, which straddles the Gansu and Qinghai provinces, covers an area of 15,800 sq km. Both parks have a great variety of wildlife, including snow leopards, wild yaks and white-lipped deer.

During a seminar held in Beijing earlier this month, director Li Xiao revealed he has watched all the documentaries about Sanjiangyuan National Park in order to find a breakthrough in storytelling.
