Documentary helps viewers 'visit' China's largest national park

Discovering the previous works about Sanjiangyuan mostly tell human stories but set the nature as the background, Li says he wanted to make nature the real "protagonist", developing a story from the perspectives of animals and plants and their relationship with humankind.

"Nature has an awe-inspiring power that can purify the spirit and arouse humankind's awareness to harmoniously live with all the other creatures on the planet," Li added.

To add an international appeal, the documentary has recruited a symphony orchestra from Europe-- consisting of more than 70 performers -- to record the soundtrack.
