Chinese tech company Oppo unveiled its latest 5G smartphones Reno6 series, as it steps up the push to attract young consumers who love photography and mobile games.

Priced from 2,799 yuan ($439) in China, the Reno6 series are part of Oppo's broader push to popularize 5G smartphones in China where competition is hitting a new high.

The Reno6 comes with a 64-megapixel primary shooter accompanied with an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens and a 2-megapixel macro lens. On the front, it houses a 32-megapixel punch-hole camera at the top left corner for selfies and video calls.

Oppo said it also optimized its artificial-intelligence-enabled algorithms to help consumers shoot better pictures and videos.

The premium version Reno6 Pro also has a 64-megapixel primary shooter, backed by an 8-megapixel ultrawide snapper and two 2-megapixel modules for macro shots and depth data. Oppo also partnered with makeup guru Bobbi Brown to offer specialized filters that apply natural-looking makeup on the spot.

The new products came after Oppo said earlier that the company aims to be one of the three major players that dominate the $600-and-above market in the future. The other two players are Apple Inc and Samsung Electronics Co Ltd.
