For the past 11 years, photographer Li Xin, whose penname is Li Xinzhao, has been residing in the Pamirs Plateau in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region to record the lives of Tajik people there. Her environmental portrait works are expressive, and present the harmony between humans and nature.

"This is a beautiful and pure world which I have been seeking. The Pamirs Plateau in Xinjiang, the land where my heart rests, was actually the most perilous and mysterious section of the ancient Silk Road", Li said.
