Dow loses 2.1% as Delta variant fears spook US stocks

NEW YORK - Wall Street stocks fell sharply Monday on revived worries about the coronavirus and its impact on global growth as governments enact fresh restrictions to counter the Delta variant.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 2.1 percent, or about 725 points, to 33,962,04.
The broad-based S&P 500 shed 1.6 percent to 4,258.50, while the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite Index declined 1.1 percent at 14,274.98.
