Xue Heng, former vice-chairman of Liaoning Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, turned himself in and is being investigated for allegedly committing a serious violation of Party discipline and laws, according to the country's top anti-graft watchdogs on Monday.
Xue, 66, is being investigated by the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission.
The watchdogs did not reveal further details about the investigation.
According to a resume released by the commissions, Xue was born in Suizhong, a county in Liaoning. He got into politics in 1975 and has spent his entire political career in the province, including serving as Party chief in three cities and as head of the provincial departments of civil affairs and public security.
Xue was also the former vice-governor of Liaoning before he began working in the provincial committee of the CPPCC in 2016.
