Two media executives in Liberia have expressed their appreciation to China through its embassy near Monrovia for a donation of motorcycles and computers with accessories.

Prince S. Parker and Philip N. Wesseh of the NEWS and Inquirer newspapers thanked the embassy for providing tools to enhance the work of journalists at the two institutions.

Parker said China has over the years proven to be a real partner to his institution in a speech on Monday.

"China is a real partner to us. They used taxpayers' money to help us in times of difficulties. We are overwhelmingly grateful to the government of China and those taxpayers," Parker said.

Wesseh thanked the Chinese embassy for the donation, especially at a time in which transportation was needed most, stating his newspaper appreciates the kind gesture of the Chinese people.

Journalists in Liberia have benefitted from capacity-building training as well as the provision of equipment over the years.
