WASHINGTON - African Americans who have contracted COVID-19 are receiving less care afterwards, said an article published Sunday on the website of American Black newsroom TheGrio.

The article quoted a study conducted by the Journal of Post-Acute and Long Term Care Medicine in Michigan, which used data of 2,217 COVID-19 patients during a 60-day-period from March 16, 2020 to July 1, 2020.

The results of the study show that Black patients who tested positive had the lowest rate of physician follow-ups after their initial discharge, in addition, Black patients had the longest gap between discharge and returning to the workplace, said the article.
