BEIJING -- The Anhui Provincial People's Procuratorate has ordered the arrest of Pan Jiahua, a former senior disciplinary inspector at China's State Tobacco Monopoly Administration, for suspected bribe-taking, an official statement said Friday.

Pan's case was transferred to procuratorial authorities for prosecution following an investigation by the National Supervisory Commission.

Pan was formerly the chief of the disciplinary inspection team sent by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China to the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration and a member of the leading Party members' group of the administration.

The handling of the case is underway.
