Chinese shares close lower Tuesday

BEIJING -- Chinese stocks closed lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 2.58 percent, at 3,433.06 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 2.83 percent lower at 13,683.89 points.
