True diplomacy is the key. That means sit down and talk to stop the war. But for diplomacy to be true, all sides must acknowledge the concerns of one another in an atmosphere that is free from the prevailing campaigns of hegemonic distortions, vilifications and containments. Without that freedom, camaderie even, any dialogue becomes a battle of wits to no one's ultimate gain.
