Surging cost of petrol drives UK inflation to 30-year high

Soaring UK prices pushed inflation to 7 percent in the year to March, the highest rate since 1992. Fuel had the biggest impact on the inflation rate, with average petrol prices rising by 12.6 pence per liter between February and March, the largest monthly rise since records began in 1990, the Office for National Statistics said.
