Official figures show that deaths involving COVID-19 have risen for the sixth successive week in England and Wales. According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), deaths mentioning COVID-19 accounted for 1,042 deaths registered in England and Wales in the week ending April 22, an increase compared with the week ending April 15, when there were 1,003 deaths mentioning COVID-19.
