Soaring US natural gas prices straining businesses

US natural gas futures prices have doubled this year, far outpacing the rise in retail gasoline and diesel prices, which have led to higher manufacturing and transportation costs in many US industrial companies. The prices are expected to remain elevated, Reuters reported Monday.
