China remains a top market priority for companies in the United States, and many of them believe that it is important to remain competitive in the Chinese market in order to remain competitive globally, said the American Chamber of Commerce in China (AmCham China) in a white paper on Tuesday.

The document, the 24th edition of the American Business in China White Paper, said that its members remain committed to the Chinese market. About 83 percent of its member companies report they are not considering relocating manufacturing or sourcing outside of China.

Regarding its priority for 2022, the chamber said that it will encourage action-based engagement between the US and China to create substantive and mutually beneficial initiatives and solutions on an issue-by issue basis, and support both sides to enrich cooperation and exchanges in areas of global and bilateral importance.

AmCham China is a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization whose membership comprises 4,000 individuals from nearly 1,000 companies, including Coca-Cola, Pfizer, Qualcomm, Honeywell, Walmart and Dell Technologies, operating across China.
