Jiangsu official expelled for severe violations

A senior official of Eastern China's Jiangsu province was expelled from the Communist Party of China and dismissed from public office for serious violation of discipline and law.
Zhang Jinghua, 60, a former deputy secretary of the Jiangsu provincial Party committee, was put under investigation for suspected severe violations, according to a statement released on Tuesday.
The investigation was conducted by the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission.
Zhang was found to have engaged in superstitious activities, taken bribes and used his power to benefit others in businesses.
He was also found to have fabricated economic data for his own promotion.
Zhang has been sent to procuratorial departments in accordance with the law. His illegal gains have been confiscated.
Zhang, a native of Jiangsu, worked in the province from 1987, serving multiple posts all the way up to deputy secretary.
