This novella scooped the Luxun Literature Prize in 2018. Spanning six decades, it narrates a tale of four generations in a Tibetan village. Matsutake, a tasty mushroom, changes the prospect of this backward hamlet. The book is the first volume of A Lai's Mountain Treasure Trilogy – the other two on caterpillar fungus and cupressus chengiana.
