The people's procuratorate of Beijing's Fangshan district decided to approve the arrest of seven people related to a testing lab on suspicion of obstructing prevention and control of infectious diseases on Monday afternoon, according to an announcement from the government's official WeChat account.

In late May, Beijing police took criminal coercive measures against six people related to Beijing Pushi Medical Laboratory Co, whose business licenses were revoked due to its nucleic acid testing service during the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.

The accused include the controller of the lab surnamed Zhou (male, 38) and the legal representative surnamed Wu (male, 37), per announcements from both the procuratorate and police.

According to the government website of Beijing's Fangshan district where the company is located, the local health commission has revoked the license of the lab as the number of samples tested by the lab was clearly smaller than the number of samples collected.
