Han Jinghua, deputy director of the Ministry of Transport's Transportation Services Department, told a news conference on Friday that local governments should not prevent trucks drivers from low-risk areas from traveling through their area.

"Truck drivers should not be stopped even if they don't have nucleic acid test results valid within 48 hours. Instead, authorities should test drivers and if results are negative, they should be allowed to continue," he said.

He said that national highways and port waterways are running normally.

On Thursday the national truck flow on expressways increased by 10.8 percent compared to April 18, while freight flights and the postal express volumes increased by 49.5 and 30.8 percent respectively in the same period.

Since June, flights to Pudong International Airport in Shanghai and Baiyun Airport in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, have returned to normal levels, he said.
